Why tip up? My first Spyderco was an FRN Dragonfly and it just stuck. I like the Lil'Temperance tip up.

My first Spydie was a Native (tip-up), and that also happened to be my first knife. Since then, I've bought the Meerkat and a full-sized Calypso, both tip-down. I voted for tip-down, since I seem to prefer that, although the orientation is (nearly) never a deal-breaker for me...

Ever since I bought an Emerson I can hardly stand to have a tip down blade on my right side. I don't even really like to carry my Kershaw Boa, once my favorite knife, now because it is tip down. I do however carry a Spyderco Harpy tip down on my left hand side because of an easy draw method into my left hand

I usually carry my knife in my waistband just behind my right hip. When drawing a knife from this position it seems more natural (at least to me) to have a tip up knife. So I voted for tip-up.

I really thought one would lead the other by far, but I was wrong.
I happen to like tip up the best. I like not having to turn my hand to open it since my thumb is already there.

I'm with Jefroman on this one. I find tip down works best for Spyder holes.

Another good reason for tip-up carry is that the lanyard hole is where it should be and not at the bottom of your pocket.

If we are strictly talking spydercos, then tip down please.
Now Emersons with a wave tip up!
