being as this knife is basically a small bushcraft, I was wondering if s35vn could be used for the added toughness over s30?

is s35 really tougher? everything I've read says it performs nearly identical to s30v, but is easier to machine.

Is this a scandi grind? This would be great.

What is scandi grind ?? Flat, hollow, convex ?

If scandi grind means that blade's cross section is flat with cutting edge, then there is not a scandi grind in this puukko. The cross section of the Puukko's blade is like 'a diamond' (like the traditional puukko models also) and in this versio the grind is flat.

Take care !

I did not notice that until your post and went and looked at the picture again. Is there a reason that it tapers down towards the spine? I know that is done in daggers and other styles, never seen it done, or noticed it done, in a traditional utility type knife like these.

Also, here on bladeforums when most people say "scandi grind" they mean a flat grind that has no secondary bevel.

its wear resistance is the same but cruicable says s35vn to be 20% tougher. That's a nice upgrade to me.I think tthat added toughness will help prevent micro chipping and chipping some have experienced with s30
