I hae been looking att the dragonfly and it looks like a good knife. However, I heard that it has problems. Like no jimping, and the zytel handles. And this leads o the question. Is there a spyderco like the dragonfly but better? Preferably less than 60?
Thanks.

FRN not Zytel. There is a G-10 version of the Dragonfly (with jimping I believe). It should be coming out pretty soon.

The G-10 Dragonfly will not really be under your budget though. It'll be around $85 street I believe when it comes out.

I don't see the no-jimping and FRN handles as a "problem". For that size of a knife, I see those features as being quite acceptable. Of course, I wouldn't turn up my nose at a Dragonfly with jimping and G10 scales, but I don't see those features as being necessary to its function. It's fine as it is.

Ive used the heck out of a d'fly and never had a BIT of problem. For the $, you wont find a better functioning slicer, period

I was always under the impression that zytel and frn were the same thing, derrrr. Thanks for triggerin a thought (doesnt happen much). PEACE.

Assuming FRN is off the table, the closest right now might be the Lava. Sierra Trading Post has it for $75. It's about the same size as the Dragonfly, has stainless steel handles, a nice deep usable choil, and jimping on both the thumb ramp and the choil. It also, IMHO, fits the hand a lot better than the Dragonfly.

Well Zytel is FRN but not all FRN is Zytel. I believe Zytel is DuPont's trademarked name for their version of FRN.
