Does anyone have production numbers on this knife (serrated and plain) or any general info?
It looks like a larger "Q" with almite/aluminum handle.
I can't seem to find much on the Spyderco "R" C67S or C67P.
Spyderco's website says it was made in 1999, but offers nothing else.
I called Spyderco and they had no production numbers, and said it may have just been a prototype.
A dealer I spoke with said he thinks 600 serrated and 600 plain edge were made, but wasn't sure.
Any info, including value would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!!

If you want more IMAGE(S) on the "R"
try www.Google.com click on IMAGE
search, then type Spyderco "R" & you
should get some "eye candy";)

As for technical info e-mail Sal or
Joyce :

Or, give Spyderco a call :
1-(800)-525-7770,wait for the nice
machine to offer you a list of company employees, then it'll ask you to type in the FIRST name of the party you're trying to reach, then
in alpha/numeric type :

6=M 4=I 5=K 3=E ( or 6453 ; that's Mike (Hayes) in warranty & repair ; tell'im Al Treat refered you. He MAY have the info you desire ;))

Hi Willy. Welcome to the Spyderco forum. We made 1200 pieces. I would guess that half were plain & half serrated. We have considered making another 1200 pc batch run with a different colored handle and a slightly different blade pattern.

They are expensive.

I really like the basic pattern of the R design. I would have liked to see that knife produced without the cut-outs in the blade and handle.

That would be cool. I've been trying to get one on E-bay for a while now.

A long time ago, I had a Q. Foolishly, I sold it on Ebay, making a nice profit. Now, I regret the decision.

I never used the Q for anything, but it was a cool piece. Since then, I've always wanted an R.

While I'm dreaming, make me an serrated R with the skull and crossbone Q pattern in S30v, a solid green handle, and a compression lock. That would be sweet. :)

I think the Skeleton handle suits the skeleton blade. What I'd love is a the new Spyderhawk done in this fashion.

Thanks for the info Sal.
I picked up a plain and serrated for much less than the $160 retail. Not too bad I guess. I don't see them going down in price.
Hope you make another. How about a white handle with a black blade in combo edge? I vote for S30V too.
Also, since I'm now a designer, I wish the edge was a little thicker. I really like this knife to carry, but I would think that years of sharpening or double sided sharpening on the serrated blade would take a toll on the thin edge.
Am I hired, or should I just stop using my angle grinder for sharpening ? :)
