Hey everyone, I am looking for a new folder. I have narrowed it down to the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 or Superleaf. Anyone have any thoughts of which I should get?

You can find some good prices on the superleaf right now!!!!

I love my para military 2, but have always wanted a superleaf. I have a Sog Aegis that has a similiar blade and love it so it's really up to you, they are both great knives, Spyderco doesn't make duds.

At the moment you will probably have an easier time getting a superleaf. Demand for the Para 2 is outstripping the supply.

PM2 is easier to carry due to smaller profile. In my situation the F&F on my Superleaf was actually better than my PM2...PM2 came with an uneven bevel. Superleaf has some killer VG-10 I see no discernible differenece between it and the S30V in my PM2.

My only compaint is the hook shaped end on the Superleaf Handle. I've considered trying to grind it off at some point but its not worth the hassle yet.

Best option would be to handle both and decide which one you like more, but I think it would be difficult to accomplish that as the Superleaf will be more scarce as days go by and the PM2 is always out of stock somewhere.

I just received my first Para2 today and I can't imagine what kind of knife it will take to knock this amazing piece of engineering out of my pocket. It is nearly perfect when you consider the infinitely more than reasonable price point. Believe the hype.

The Para 2 is a good blade. The Endura Wave is an extremely good EDC to consider as well.

Para 2 is tough to find now. Superleaf is discontinued, but available. Get the superleaf now, and save for the para when it becomes more widely available.

Everyone here is going to say Para 2. Not because the Superleaf is bad, just because the PM2 is considered by a lot of people as "the perfect knife." Considering the price point, quality, materials, and ergonomics.

I second this advice. I have both. The Para is a bit smoother but I find the Superleaf to be a bit more ergonomic. They're both great though. Fit and finish on both of mine is pretty much perfect. I'm contemplating grabbing a second Superleaf before they start to disappear.

Thanks everyone. I like the Endura, but really wanting the try out the compression lock.
I am going to go with Error 404 and RJ80.
Thanks again.

This. The Superleaf is one of Spyderco's biggest sleepers and can be had for $100 or less (MSRP $215) while they last. It's a beast with a 4mm blade and has great ergos, compression lock and wire clip. The PM2 is an awesome knife (I have 4 versions) but due to current demand and scare supply they are going for a premium.

Why pay a premium for a current production knife during a temporary low supply and pass up a rare opportunity to get a deal on a discontinued model? Have you seen what happens to the street value of discontinued Spydies after the dealer stock is exhausted? I wouldn't be surprised if you could use a Superleaf for awhile, then sell it to fund a PM2 purchase once supply catches up with demand and the street prices come down. My hunch, though, is that you would keep it and get a PM2.
