Wath do you guys think about the spyderco renegade in terms of edc and as a self defense knife? Which would you guys prefer the spyderco renegade or the benchmade mini afck. I was leaning towards the benchmade. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't comment on SD purposes because I got no experience (thank god) nor expertise.
I perfer the Renegade because of the fine tip for good utility work. But it may break.
I think the general consensus is that the AFCK makes a good SD blade.

The AFCK should make a good self-defense blade, but not the Mini. I would go for the 806D2 if you wanted a Benchmade for self defense.

I had a renegade and it was ok but now I've got two 806d2 afck's one of which I got from Mr Roos and they are in my opinion the best of the bunch. my .02

The Benchmade 806D2 is absolutely a great knife, however I have not used the mini afck. You give up the axis lock for the liner, and the steel is not D2. If you're getting an afck I would recommend the 806.

I carry a Renegade as one of my SD/EDC's.It fits great in my hand and is razor sharp.Very solid lock-up and I don't think you could go wrong with it.
