Anyone ever have one of these? They're discontinued, but still available. 4" GIN-1 Steel Blade, G10 handle. Looks pretty cool...sort of like the Military and only $50.00 new. What do you think?

It feels quite good. I like the handle of it. Reminds me of a afck. The only problem I have with it is the very thin tip.

Where is it available for $50 new? I think I saw Blackhawks and Renegades at BotachTactical for $45 for a while, but now they've gone back up to $72.

To answer my own question:

The seller 'knifesales' on Ebay has Spyderco Blackhawks for $49. Good ebay seller, but the prices are close to those at online stores.

The seller 'noideal' on Ebay has a Spyderco Renegade currently going for $26 (but bound to go higher). Note that the one that noideal is selling has no clip.

Maybe this should go in GBU, but noideal took forever (5 weeks, I believe) to ship me my Camillus CUDA Arclite (1st production run). The seller probably didn't have stock on hand, and had to run around everywhere trying to look for a cheap 1st prod. run Arclite.

IMO if spyderco would make them in PE and a bigger hole while keeping it without the hump, I'll buy another one.
I have one, I love the handle. It's exceptionally well done, better than many other spydercos. I like the shape of the blade, because I'm partial to the clip point. I'm aware that the tip is quite thin, but I don't use any knife to pry anything, so I'm pretty safe. Not to mention it's scary sharp out of the box, and has a very solid lockup and a reassuring click.
Get it before they're really gone.

I have an older one with PE blade. Those had a bit different handle: choil / liner lock release recess was only on one side of handle as in Starmate and Military. It was lock back but handle was clearly made for linerlock and clip is in quite poor place for my taste - alot of knife is visible while it is clipped in pocket.

For 50$ I'd buy one if it wasn't partially cursed ;) blade.

I had one. . .picked it up in a trade (it wasn't the target knife in the trade).

The Renegade is a very large knife ( OAL is 9 1/8" ). The blade on mine was 3/4 serrated. Don't really care for serrations and it didn't carry well. . .so I sold it.

I also have a Blackhawk. . .which is a smaller version of the Renegade. It's 7 1/8" in OAL. Has a plain edge and is more carry and user friendly.
