Who here owns a Spyderco Renegade?

I own one and its a sweet knife....wish they didn't discontinue these.

I own a couple. Don't consider it one of Spyderco's better designs, or one of the better looking ones. Looks like someone took a BlackHawk, which to me has much better proportions, and stretched it out.

Unlined G-10 handles proved problematic, clip screws kept pulling out. Relatively high price tag probably didn't help either. Spyderhole was quite small and, IMHO, poorly placed. Interesting side note: According to the Spyderco Story, the target markets for the Renegade and BlackHawk were bikers and their ladies, respectively,

I carried a Renegade for about a year. I really loved the blade myself. It's another one of the classic Spyders I would like to see return someday in a newer/better blade steel. As far as I know I think it was the first Spyderco model to have a G-10 handle. I'm not sure if it or the smaller Blackhawk were first to be introduced.

I had read in an older knife magazine back in the 90s that the Renegade and Blackhawk models both were made for the biker crowd. As I've said before it's one of the very few Spyderco models that was made in Golden CO and Seki City Japan both.

I also remember how really well that knife fit in my hand.

I'll take a picture of mine, its a little different that those you have pictured and mine has 50/50 edge. I got it from CDNN Investments around 1998 when they were closing them out, really cheap, around $25.00

Sounds like yours is probably one of the ones which were made in Japan.
