Absolutely love this design!!!! Any thoughts on why they went with S30V, I don’t believe I’ve seen that in a while for a $250 Spydie. If I recall correctly, my older knives have S30V and I remember it being a softer steel didn’t hold an edge too long but was easy to sharpen. Maybe something has changed. Still love this design and will be buying 1 or 2!!!!!

It’s an awesome design! Spyderco S30V is some of the best available and its edge holding is similar to S45VN, S35VN , And Magnacut.

Page down quite a ways to the : TCC and Hardness RC chart.
I would never call S30V soft.

Appreciate the info. To clarify, I didn’t call it soft, I was referring to it being possibly “softer” than the more modern steels that Spyderco has used recently like Maxemet, Magnacut, 15V, Cruwear, etc.

Update, bought 2 today. 1 gray and 1 partially serrated black.

Right now, that will be up to Eric and what "Exclusives" might be in-the-works. The Shaman design began a long time ago. It took several years to complete and refine the design before I was satisfied. Then the "Bodacious" and "Edgerati" variants were designed to serve what I thought might be requested. Now we'll watch response from you (the market) as to what variations of the variants might be requested?

The Shaman design is an offshoot of the "Native" family. I guess we'll see if more variations are desired?
