A new member just asked a question over in the General area.

And it kicked up a memory from Blade 05. I handled a POroto Sailors knife at the Spyderco booth. Had a nice chat with Eric about the knife and saw some of the other proto's.

Anyways,
I have to ask where is it?!
Any word on what's up with this project? I'm really looking forward what the product will be. The proto was amazing, had the ball lock on the spike.

Just looking to hear if anyone has anything about this knife

I'd love it if Spyderco delivered a knife with a marlingspike. That would be awesome.

I have a sheepsfoot rigging knife by Myerchin that's really nice, in the meanwhile.

Years ago Spyderco had planned to make a marlinspike knife. They were even going to call it the "Yachtsman". But it seems like in the last year there was some talk about the possibility of a marlinspike knife to make the line up.

I am really surprised that they haven't jumped on that market. There are so few Marlinspike knive out there that I think one of Spyderco quality would be a good, steady seller.

ON the "yachtsman" there was even some mention of it in the SPYDERCO STORY BOOK.
