Spyderco Ronin, Reviewed

Nice review Phil.

I have seen many comments on this knife in the last few months, all pretty much liked it.

The Ronin is also an incredibly useful cutting tool.
Any Ronin's happy owner will tell you this: this short blade is NOT restricted to self defense only! Period.

Of course Michael Janich has build it with SD purpose in mind and also as the Utimate Neck Knife but consider this:

1/ needle point - solid and really usefull (I don't know other design in the knife industry which used such a sharp point)
2/ flat grind - Slashing and precise cuts, think Military PE with a lower angle.
3/ VG-10 This steel is a breeze to resharp and the straight edge makes it easy to work even on improvised sharpening tools.
4/ A VERY confortable short handle to work with even when your hand are wet.
Also Mike Janich states that the more you use your knife the more you will be 'instinctive' if you have to use in 'stressful situations'....

Recently I have been using mine as an ice pick without any damage. This knife cuts through ice as through hot butter.
Rince it and it's clean. Sheath it and forget it.

Really, on our perspective the Ronin is the EDC FB we have been waiting for.

Try it you won't regret it.
So, now get Shorty ! :-D

cheers

Sharp Phil,
Right on about the Ronin its a SUPER RONIN in my book.

I have carried mine #449 Spyderco Ronin since I pulled it from the box and smiled as it was in my hand! I pity the poor souls (stupid souls at that) that get cut in defense by a RONIN!
