Hi all. Anyone have this knife? How do you like it as an EDC medium duty folder? You think its worth the $120 price tag?

Pics would be great :D

Sorry, no pics, but its been my edc folder of choice for a while now. Nice materials, impressive fit and finish, and the ergos are great

Do you own any other Spyderco knives? How does the Sage stack up against them if u do?

In terms of f&f the sage series is pretty much on top compared to the rest of the spyderco lineup. The sages are in my top 3 of all spyderco knives and is the complete package of everything I look for in an edc. Honestly this topic has been done to death and you should try using the search function to get the info you need before you start a new thread ;).

Btw you can get a sage 1 for around $100 so its a relatively good value.

Fantastic knife; you can't go wrong with it. Here are some pictures:

F&F means fit and finish. Fit means how well the parts of the knife fit together; are the gaps, does everything line up nicely?

Finish is how the knife is finished so does it have laser or grind marks everywhere, are there strands of carbon fiber sticking out.

The sages and every cf spyderco I own have flawless fit and finish.

yourcornerstore.com has it for like $97. For the materials and quality workmanship you get the sage is imo a good value.

Yeah its well worth the money. I haven't heard one disappointing comment about it. Unless you count hating the fact that its made in Taiwan. There are vids all over youtube showing off its utility.

Great blade, excellent ergos, CF scales make for a terrific knife, never mind where it's made. Worth owning, some of the best Spyderco has to offer.

I don't think I have a single knife that's a more complete and satisfying EDC package than the Sage I. Looks great, feels great, very light, perfect ergonomics (the CF on the Sage is the best combo of looks and feel of any CF knife on the market IMO), stellar cutter made of excellent steel, and perfect fit and finish. It makes me question why I have ever spent more on a similar-sized knife.

Nicest spyderco I have owned. I prefer the sage 1 over the sage 2. I've got one up for sale in the for sale forums.

Lock and steel kills it for me, but I have seen a few (both 1 and 2) and the build quality, action and ergos are superb. (The cutout for your finger makes it far easier to open and unlock but less comfortable to hold; a fundamental design flaw with many liner locks IMO )

I "downgraded" from a small Sebenza to a Sage 1 and Sage 2. I list both because I tend to go back and forth with which one I carry. They both are nearly perfect EDC knives. The blade shape and grind is excellent, they both came razor sharp, and as said before the Fit and Finish are awesome.

They are as well made as my Golden Colorado Spydies, and I think they look really good. The Sage 1 seems to have a slightly thinner blade and thicker handle slabs than the Sage 2, but is definately a tad lighter.

The only negative I saw with either, is a couple of edges that could have been a little bit smoother, namely at the bottom of the lock cutout. Pretty much unnoticeable if I had not just come from a Sebenza, where extreme effort is made to prevent sharp edges anywhere.

All in all, it is an excellent knife, a near perfect design with good materials, at a reasonable price. If it was made in Golden, I think it would be considered one of Spyderco's very best knives, but the Buy American theme holds them back a bit.
