I took apart my Sage 2. It had perfectly aligned blade now i cant seem to get that back to center. IS there a specific sequence that will hep me return this lovely knife back.

Feeling like I failed in its dissection as uber poor surgeon :(

Help required for this newb to return his knife to awesome again

Tx in advance for replies.

First just try tightening the pivot screw. When I still had mine I found that if I let the pivot get too loose the blade would start moving towards one side. I tightened it back up and the blade returned to the center.

If that doesn't work, try reassembling just the pivot screws/washers/blade.

Loosen all the scale screws and the pivot screw and apply opposing pressure on the scales until the blade looks centered then tighten them and the pivot to hold in place. The pivot will be the final adjustment but I agree that the pivot tension will move the blade. Just remember that the body screws have a centering impact too.

Everything Reeek said!

And I always reassemble a frame/linerlock in the half open position, never in the locked position.

Just found this last night searching the spyderco forums and it worked great for my military:

- Tighten pivot all the way tight. (i know sounds weird, but it works)
- loosen all handle screws in the knife
- wedge a piece of paper beside the blade to push it over to the other side.
- tighten handle screws back up starting at the opposite end from the pivot.
- loosen the pivot back up and adjust to your liking. Should be centered now.
