So I have a mini griptilian love it I can open and close it one handed without flicking also have a manix 2 this takes my thumb and middle finger to pull the locks while I use my pointer to close it I dislike how hard this is. I'm looking at the sage 3 can someone tell me if it's easy 1 handed latch like benchmade axis locks? Or very hard springs like the manix 2? I have pretty weak hands.

I release mine with one hand, but not with one finger. The spring is much stronger than the omega spring in the BM and my sage 3 lock sticks really bad.

I actually wish they put some jimping along the bottom of the handle where it sits in your palm. It's really smooth and as you pull the lock down it sometimes slides out of your hand. I'll post a picture of the location tomorrow.

The Axis locks on my various Grips and Mini-Grips is much easier to disengage than the bolt lock on my Sage3 (the older blue G10 version). My Sage3 is much easier to disengage than my Manix2 (FRN/S110V version). Although not as easy as the Axis lock, I can work the lock on my Sage3 with just my thumb. I can also unlock my Manix2 with just my thumb, but it takes considerably more force. For my Manix2, I just pinch both sides of the CBBL between my thumb and index finger, and then I swing the blade shut.

The sage 3 that i owned was one of the smoothest knives ive owned. Could be flicked open with no effort and as soon as you release the bolt lock it would gravity drop closed. The lock was easy enouh to release with just my thumb. Idk if everyone sage 3 is like that but mine was.

This was my experience with my old blue G10 Sage 3. It was so amazingly smooth. It led to my eventual fascination and affinity for the Axis lock. The lock on the Manix is no where near these two in regards to how easy they are to open and close one handed and the smoothness of the locking mechanism. My Sage was smoother (albeit not substantially) than any Axis lock Ive used to date.
