I was wondering if all the Spyderco Sage 3's sold right now were numbered or not? Thanks for reading

No, they are a regular production item. Only those who are members of the Spyderco Collectors club receive numbered knives....with their collectors number inscribed. Technically, you could receive a numbered Spyderco if you purchased a knife from a member of the club who listed it on an auction site.

^Just to add to that, some dealers get a couple subscriptions to the collectors' club, so it's possible to get one through them, also.

How do you become a member of the Spyderco collectors club. and is the something like that for Benchmade as well? I see a lot of Benchmade knifes that are numbered or pre production and I have always wondered how they got them

I've heard that it can get very pricey as you end up paying full MSRP for the knives. You can pick from different levels, some are every single knife they produce you have to buy one, or every variant, etc. You can call the SFO in Golden, CO for more information. Keep in mind some of the CC# knives do not fetch any additional value over time. Theya re not necessarily like LE knives or sprint runs. SOme people think those knvies are worth much more and in some cases they end up being worth less than whatever the market price would be at that point.
