My father gave this knife to me for Christmas last year, he bought it from spydieguys, so I doubt that it is a fake Spyderco.
Sometimes when I went to draw the knife from my pocket, the CF gave me splinters. Unintentionally, I put the knife away for awhile and sort of forgot about it. Recently today, I remembered this.
Handling the knife today, I do not feel any rough spots.

Has anyone heard of the Spyderco Sage CF, or any CF knife for that matter, having problems with giving the user splinters?

I've heard of splintering issues with CF spydercos in the past; it wouldn't hurt to get in contact with Spyderco customer service to see if they can help you.

Yes, the places where the CF is sanded (assuming) on the outer part of the scales. When I look at the knife I don't really see any rough spots, but there were a few incidents in the past where I got splinters.
If I take some good pictures then I will upload them.
