Spyderco Sage Standoffs

Does anyone know where i can get custom barrel standoffs for the Spyderco Sage? Getting mine customized and wanted to know if anyone know where to get anodized red ones.

If you want red you would need either aluminum or some sort of coating as Titanium cannot be anodized red.

A forum member, Gnoleb, has a thread re: a lotta cool anno'd stand-offs, screws , etc. for KAI products and a few Spydies (although I don't see a Sage represented) but you might send him a PM to see if he offers em'?

Maybe try to get some from Spyderco? They sent me Sage standoffs a couple years ago because I had damaged one of mine. You have to ask very nicely for them to do it though.

I know you wouldn't be able to anodize these, but if you're not opposed to a coating maybe you could find something that would work for you.

Something to consider - the stand offs dont really touch anything, so there's minimal chance of the paint rubbing off if you decide to paint them yourself. The blade doesn't touch them, they don't rub anything, they're pretty well protected inside the body of the knife.

You can paint them yourself for a couple cents using your wife's nail polish, model car paint, etc. I used some of my wife's ruby red nail paint on my 940, and about 2 minutes of my time. Easy.

Gnoleb unfortunately does not have any Sage standoffs.

Awesome thanks for the info! might just have to try that. Might try and get some replacements first. in case it doesn't turn out.
