Just got my yellow handled Spyderco Salt. It's not the pacific, atlantic, or tasman, so whichever that one is called. I got it on ebay for 39 bucks:thumbup: . It's a sweet little knife, and probably the sharpest i currently own. I can't wait to get some use out of it this summer. Ill be starting my river guide training in colorado in May.!!!:D

Nice price! Keep an eye out for those H1 fixed blades. I really hope to see some before summer.

"Spyderco Salt" it is! (The later models got separate names.) Great choice for the river :D

Thanks, I've heard a lot of great things about them. That fixed HI looks sweet.

Does anyone know if they could be used as dive knife? This might sound stupid, but could a folders fixtures take the pressure on deeper dives??

Your folder will be able to withstand far more pressure than your body. Consider your life, not your knife.

Yes, they could be used as a dive knife although most of us divers prefer fixed blades over folders. Pressure would not be a bother with a knife, no matter the depth. Dive away.

Your primary dive knife should be an easily accessible fixed blade.

A folder should only be considered as a back up. It would have to be carried in a pocket or clipped to a BC with a tether. Neither mode would be easily accessible in an emergency. The additional extra step of having to open the blade, especially wearing gloves or in the cold, makes it even more problematic.

That being said, the Salt would be an excellent back up and all around boat knife!
