Hello guys, I was wondering what do you think would happen if I used Royal Blue Rit dye on black PM2 scales? would it make it a really dark blue or stay black because if you do it on the camo scales it turns the very dark shades a dark blue, let me know what you think and if it would work how do I do it????

Yes my bad I apologize I kept getting an error code and tried to repost so it posted twice in two sections, I messed up (or my internet did)

Usually dye only works on equal or ligher original scale color. Likely won't work on black. That's what I gather from several modder around MT&E subforum.

it might just take on a blue'ish hue. you could try to bleach out some of the black first, but you just might do more damage then good as it might make the G10 brittle.

Ok thank you very much I might get a set of camo scales so do you recommend any special technique or liquid or powder?

yes rit dye, there are available on amazon and very cheap. use the powder form and follow the instruction for Nylon dyeing. it works great. I myself dyed some baby blue tenacious scales with royal blue dye and it came out dark blue, nearly just like the S110V line actually.

one think it will get into the material, but just in the very outer layers, so it will wear out with time, but I think that makes it look great, a little micarta like.
