Hello I recently had to sell my lum carbon fiber spyderco folder and it has been bugging me. I want a replacement folder and wanted to get some opinions on the spyderco schempp bowie. I love the way it looks however it is a rather high price around 190 USD. Is it worth the cost? Will this end up being a collectible piece? Would you call this piece a reliable knife? Thanks for your time

It's a fantastic knife, as a user or for a collection....get one.

And it's $161.87 at KnifeWorks, free shipping.

I love mine, and I do think it will be discontinued after a couple of years and become collectible for sure. I use mine though, but not at work (Construction site)...I find it suits itself better to after work carry/gentleman knife carry for those who like a larger folder.

Most anything from Mr. Schempp seems to span both directions; as undeniably great users (if you haven't tried anything with that negative blade angle, you're doing yourself a disservice!), and most all seem to quickly become sought after collector knives as well.

I can't speak about the Bowie specifically since I don't own one, but I have been eyeballing one. I think I may like one more and maybe even pulled the trigger on one by now if it didn't have the little guard bump on the top of the bolster/handle. Would look more like a slightly smaller Navaja with blade angle! :D
