Some of my first impressions with this knife.

Looks - love it or hate it I guess. I love it. Blade shape, handle shape the whole thing - even the lanyard hole in that funky spot.

Feel - solid. This knife has a lot of heft for it's size. The shape of the handle provides for a sure grip and I like it quite a lot. The knife is quite thin overall and that takes a bit of getting used to for me. Especially on the close because the blade really pops back into the handle and I have to watch my ring finger. I knicked it already. I don't usually carry using the clip, but I normally need the clip to help put my fingers somewhere on opening and closing. In tip down carry (from factory) the clip was not helpful to me. I reversed the clip and now it provides ample finger support. If you like to carry using the clip, this one is tight and solid. Very secure.

Blade - very sharp out of the box. It is also extremely tight. I hope that the knife loosens up a bit because I have a very difficult time on the one handed close. The blade does not drop down well yet. I suspect that will change in a week or two. The blade shape is great and the 14mm hole is perfect for me (a guy who likes thumb studs normally). The blade stock is a bit thinner than I expected and I don't think that I would stress the point too much based on the way it looks. The fact that the spine is ground may contribute to that illusion, but time will tell how well the point holds up.

Lockup - very secure. No play in any direction at all. The lockback requires a good amount of force to disengage the blade which helps to inspire confidence.

Overall - for $60, this knife is a winner already. Once I get more used to the sleek (thin) design and it loosens up a bit, I suspect it will be my new dress folder.

I've got mine clipped in my right pocket at this moment. I was going to switch it to tip-up carry, but I discovered that a Spydie Drop is ridiculously easy with the clip set for tip-down carry. Great knife.

Agreed and that is the trade off for me. I found tip down carry to be PERFECT for the Spydie Drop too. Unfortunately I could not weigh that over the fact that I could not properly hold the knife on close (which I learned with some blood spilled). I'm glad I don't use the clip to carry the blade or else that would make for a lot of blood...

i like my scorpius too, and mine is also still a bit stiff to open. even more so than my police's where when i bought em new. will probably wear out over time and get better.

i've noticed one thing that annoys me somewhat though. even though the hole is a generous 14mm, it's basically not living up to its full potential, because in the closed position there's about 5mm of that hole in the handle. i 'd rather have the hole completely exposed while closed.........

because of that i also find it somewhat annoying and painful to open left-handed. i keep mine tip-down btw.

i noticed one more thing btw, when clipping the knife to the front pocket, every now and then the part of the blade where the spine meets the swedge ("talon"), you know like on the Police, the corner of it tends to snag my pocket...

just minor stuff all in all, but still...
