spyderco second sale!! Nov. 22nd

As chance would have it, I will be flying into Denver that very day from AK, haven't been there in 16 years, what are the odds :D

How are the in store "sale" prices compared to various vendors' online prices?
Thanks!

Short answer is the pricing is a good discount.

The sarcastic answer is, that depends on how much your time is worth.

I went a few years back. I didn't want to camp overnight so I arrived at 6:00 AM (by that time the line was around the building.) I ended up standing in line for over 4 hours or so, and by the time I got in, the place was totally picked over. I only grabbed a solitary Military. So time included, I paid more than retail for a second. I hear they have changed the format some since I went, but I can't confirm that. My experience tells me the people that camp at the door overnight are the ones that cherry pick the good stuff. So go early if you want to score.

Thanks jtoler. Sounds intense. I live in Golden, but don't care much for big crowds. LOL

Think black Friday and you'll get the idea.

If you are local and hate crowds. Go late and see what's left. You could score, who knows. Good luck either way.

So unless we camp, we won't get anything good then ;( sadly I live in different state

I haven't been in a few years but that hasn't been my experience. I think I got there around 9 and waited for just a bit but got a couple millies and paras and several byrds for next to nice prices. There wasn't a ton but there was good stuff.

I think this is a pretty cool sale. And, not to be a killjoy, but, I'm not sure I'd wait in line for hours upon hours for a second. It's like waiting in line at the Apple store for a 4S during the 6 first day release. Kind of pointless, but I digress.

Hope you guys have fun and scoop em all up

This was my experience on the last sell a few years ago exactly. Waited for hours, but scored some pm2's, some caly and a millie. Prices are insanely good. I paid 30 and 40 $ for my pm2's and 60 for my calys. 60 for a millie. Seriously, you couldn't find anything wrong with them, side by side comparison was identical. Some are better than others, with some having obvious defects, but most are spotless. Call me crazy, but I'll be camping out the night before, with all these neat spyderco's coming out, I might get lucky :)

I am seriously considering going to the sale this year. I have been wanting to go for the ladt 10 years, but it has just never been possible. Now we are thinking of taking a trip to the mountains so our 3 year old daughter can see some snow for the first time. (We live in South Texas, so snow is a once in a lifetime occurence here.)

From anyone who has attended in the past, truthfully how early do I need to go? The earlier I go the more it's gonna cost me with the missus, knowutimean? I can probably get there as early as midnight, but it's going to hurt. I need some realistic advice so I can plan this out and make it happen.

Also when does the Factory Store open for this sale? That will give me an idea as to how much coffee to bring ;).
