Any comments one the shabaria liner ? i've never handled one, and i wonder if it's easy to accidently unlock it, since the liner kinda looks very exposed to me. anybody any experience with that one ? apart from that, what's the knife like in general ?

thanks, cheez

very sturdy lock, never had any problems with mine!! the handle is little ackward at first, but you get use to it!!! it actually provides a good grip. The micarta is finished to a satin. The blade is very sharp, the design of the blade provides for a really nasty, sharp, cutting drag!!!
I could say many other things, but it is definitely worth having!!! :)

I'm very keen on these but haven't aquired one yet. Didn't they come with green micarta originally?

I OWN one of these baby's ; and let me tell you you won't regret owning
one either! There is this "myth" being pandered about about the Shab's liner, and it's alot of bullsh*t IMO. The "feel" in the hand
is quite "ergonomic" (i.e. conforms to "human" useage ) and the "pommel"
at the base of the knife reminds me of the V-42 stilettoes "skull crusher" pommel. I LOVE mine!

AET ;)

I also have one I got about 2 months ago or so and its a damn nice knife. The liner lock on mine appears to be very secure. I would recomend one to anybody. One heck of a design, both with the handle and blade.

I don't have one myself.., but a very close friend rotates two he owns daily. He also uses them extensively.., and daily. Has had no problems.

I used to own one...

Now my wife owns it...It is one terrific knife, gives alot of cutting power in a very light easy to carry package. It locks up better than any other Spydie I've owned, cuts like a laser, and pierces like a hypodermic. Hard to regret one of these, even if your wife commandeers it.

Oh, one complaint I do have about it..always opened a little on the coarse side, unless you're willing to tolerate some blade play. Tried polishing it with Flitz and a dremel, etc...no luck, just the nature of the beast.

Also for what it's worth, the partially concealed opening hole presents no problem, it's mainly the top edge of the hole I used anyways.

Great knife. I've never had mine unlock untill I wanted it unlocked. I haven't used it for heavy cutting, but for everyday usage. No problems so far.
