Hi,

I was just notified that my favoriye dealer received a few of these. I'm looking for a good sized SE folder, over 8". How well does the DLC hold up? I'm usually not a fan of black blades because I'm a bit OCD. I'd like to use this as primarily an EDC and suburban woods knife. Meaning 100 acre parks in general. Any better choices around this price range, $225 to $245 ? I am a Spyderco fan and the compression lock though. No liner locks for me.

Thanks guys/gals

Spyderco’s DLC is incredibly tough. Probably the toughest blade coating I’ve encountered. Sometimes after cutting something with it, it looks as though there’s some streaking on the blade. Like the coating is starting to wear off. But 9 times out of 10 it’s just residue from the material being cut. Just wipe it down with a damp cloth then dry it and it’s brand new again.

DLC, judging from my CS American Lawman, is very durable -- I think it's used to coat valve stems. I have a BassPro Buck 110 in CPM-154 with some kind of hard coating that seems equally durable.
