Just ordered a Spyderco sharpmaker and a set of ultra fine stones, thoughts

Get the diamond sticks also. Great for re-profiling and repairs.

It's a great system, just don't let your knives go too long between sharpenings or you will spend awhile getting that original edge back on your knives, before I had the Edge Pro, I had a sharpmaker and it did it's job, I touched my knives up about once weekly though, because a dull knife+sharpmaker even with the diamonds= a lot of time to get a good edge back on your knives...
