Hi All,

Does anyone know what is the grit number or what grit is the white stone on the Sharpmaker 204? To me it seems to be smoother than DMT extre fine which is 1200 grit right?

My DMTs seem much grittier than they should for their rating, but that might just be because they're so aggressive. Then again it might not. I really have nothing to say.

Ouch! Dang, that's sharp!

In some odd prospectus, if my memory still works, the gritsize of Spyderco "fine", which the white stone should be, was given as equivalent to approximately 800.
Now a solid "baked" stone has no "grit #", it just cuts "like" a certain #.
In case of doubt ask Sal....
Happy sharpening .)

From responses to that question in the Spyderco forum, the medium are 600 and the fine 1200.

Mr Dave, if your DMT's are new they are way more agressive than the grit number would indicate. In the instruction it mentions to break them in first. Even so, I think the scratch depth is still inconsistent with the grit number.
