Spyderco Sharpmaker question

I know there was a thread recently about where to get a Sharpmaker, but I have a slightly different problem/question. I'm at college, where they frown upon knives. I therefore don't want to receive a package through the campus mail office from something like "KNIVES.COM!", or anything else with knives obviously in the from address.

I was wondering if you all knew any reputable places to get one that wouldn't have "knives" or similar in their return address, or even someplace willing to fudge their return address to omit such.

Thanks a ton,
Dave, AKA Lucky Bob

Grow a spine :) and order the dang thing where ever you want. Who cares what some sissy in the campus post office thinks. Theres nothing illegal or immoral about possessing a couple of dagnab whetstones in a plastic base.

Ok - more to your question. See if newgraham.com sells 'em. Thats all it would say on the package.

peace

order it to your parents or other relatives and have them resend it
Thought about that... but it's expensive enough, without having to wait for it to get shipped twice, and paying for both of them.

Yeah, "grow a spine works," except when I have several knifes on campus, in addition to the zero-tolerance policy here at school. Newgraham's a good idea, I may buy a knife itself, too

Get it on ebay. I just got one for $40. You can contact the seller very easily and request how the return address will appear.

If you carry a knife, you have to learn to live with the consequences. It's a way of life. Either accept it or change your lifestyle.

I do accept the consequences. I just take measures to minimize them, too, as any sensible person would do. (If you were part of a group that was looked down upon, would you jump out and identify yourself? or go quietly about your business.)

I just got my sharpmaker in the mail today from new graham. All it says is "New Graham"
I just emailed them, actually, and got the same response! thanks, though.

While you're here, is the video a VHS or DVD?

If all you're ordering is a Sharpmaker, what difference does it make where it's coming from or what the return address label says? Even if it said something like Knives 'R' Us on the return address label, you wouldn't be violating any 'policies' by ordering a sharpener. Right? Plus, isn't it a Federal crime to tamper with someone elses mail? Perhaps UPS, DHL, FedEx, etc are exempt from that.

I was like you when I was in college. I never did order any knives, that I recall. However, I did have a rifle in my dorm room on a few occasions. I transported the rifle in and out of the dorm in a bass guitar gig bag. I stuffed the bag in the back of my closet between outings. It helps to have a cool roommate, or an 'always gone' roommate. Me being a music major, he would never have known otherwise.

It, itself, wouldn't be violating any policies. However, since I live in campus housing, the school can search my place more or less any time they want, where they'd find the few knives I actually brought with me. I'd rather not give them a reason to do so!
