Just wondering if a little wiggle in the sticks after you insert them in the hole is normal. Mine seem to have a little play in them. Does anyone have a super tight fit?

Mine wiggle too. A little pressure on them from the blade while drawing the knife downward forces them to the outside, and will maintain a consistant edge angle with each pass.

Mine have a little play too. In my experience, it won't cause any deviation in angle as long as pressure is applied consistently.

Nothing else is precise either...the base is not perfectly level, the blade is not held precisely vertical for every stroke, the stones aren't perfectly straight, but it all is close enough.

Yeah. One's very tight, and one's loose. So the angle on one side of the blade will be different to that on the other. Great.
