Exclusive Spyderco stones, or just bought from some manufacturer and added to a custom base?

Cool. It's going on my list of things to buy next. :)

I have a similar triangular Lansky rod which would be perfect if not for a tiny bump (like an injection molding leftover) on the edge. It's a good stone if I am careful, but that is really annoying. Time to try something new.

I agree fully.

The Sharpmaker must be the best sharpener on the market, no question. It is incredibly easy to use, and safe, with brass rods to protect your hands :) It can be used on any blade shape. Other things, such as scissors, tin snips, razors, planes, chisels, wood gouges, wire cutters, paddle bits, router bits, needles, nail clippers and hooks can be sharpened as well

I can have my dull knife literally razor sharp in about ten minutes. Of course, another benefit is, the main blade is always unmarked :D

Basically, just make sure you hold the knife vertical and carefully run the blade along the stones. It's fully washable and very hard wearing .

Mark.

Ordered a new Sharpmaker from Simmons Gun Specialties. Opened the package to find one medium gray stone missing. Called Simmons up and they passed the buck to Spyderco. Called Spyderco and a nice lady said they are sending me a replacement. Excellent customer service.
The clamshell packaging is eaisly opened and closed....if it was at least stapled, perhaps items would not fall out or be pilfered.

Oh, boy, do I agree on the Sharpmaker being the best. I bought a model 203 with my first Spyderco knife around 15 years ago and I still use it. Not as often, however. I keep the 203 in my travel trailer now since I bought a 204 for the house.

Great sharpener. :D
