I can only speak to the Tuff as I don't own a DOC.
One of the most common complaints that i have read here about the Tuff's design has been its shortened edge length due to the large choil, while this is true I personally find the knife to be very comfortable in the hand due to this feature, I would think it to be even more desirable to those with large hands, the Tuff will accommodate the biggest mitts. I also really like the dimpled scales, they give the knife a unique appearance and although the dimples likely only reduce the weight by a small margin it probably does make a worthwhile difference on a large beefy scale, the stainless liner also has large round cut-outs.
My example has a very tight pivot, and by that I mean it feels extremely strong, i would even say it has a solid feel like no other folder I have used. The short lockbar is on the stiff side so you need some force to move it over, but it suits the piece to a T, and I love the replaceable lock face insert as well. As far as the blade itself goes the fuller and raised spine are aesthetically pleasing and just look right, especially when the knife is closed, and I think many can agree that the choice of 3V as a blade steel is interesting and again it just suits the whole package.
If you can't already tell I Think the Tuff is great knife, and honestly one of my favourite Spyderco knives I have ever owned, check one out and I don't think you will be disappointed.
