Aside from the obvious size difference between the two, does anybody know what would be some benefits of one over the other? Any differences in parts or quality that would sway ones purchase over the other?

Bowie is stainless steel and easy to maintain. K2 is not stainless, will stay sharp longer, but be more difficult to resharpen.

Bowie is easier to handle and close one-handed. K2 has a long lock bar that makes one-handed closing a bit more difficult.

Bowie is only tip-up carry. K2 is only tip-down carry.

Does anybody own both or have had their hands on both who could give me their thoughts? I would love to be able to see them both in person, but there aren't any brick and mortar stores around me that I know of who have Spydies...or any knife worth buying for that matter.

I've read in posts and reviews where the Slysz Bowie excels in fit and finish, but would be about the size of a "medium" Sebenza if there were such a thing. The differences in the blade steel is where I'm getting a little lost. Any clarification and opinions on this would be greatly appreciate, as I'm looking to try and buy one in the next couple weeks for EDC. (Size not much of an issue, as I do not have an office job)

Steel on k2 holds edge better but harder to sharpen. I compared them both at the spydie table in Eugene last year. K2 is - and feels like - a much bigger knife than Slysz. Also k2 more industrial & less refined than Slysz. Same quality. If I regularly needed a really hard use working tool I would go with k2. Otherwise Slysz seems a much nicer pocket-friendly edc.

I just pulled the trigger on one at a pretty decent price. I wish it had a steel insert on the lock bar like the Ti Military, but I guess its not really needed. CRK does fine without them. Farid said on another forum that the steel, not being stainless, can get stained if you cut fruit, etc., but I'm not a fruit cutting kind of guy and pretty much baby my blades like a girly man anyway.
