I have seen a lot of comparisons between the Southard and 561, and understand why, but does anyone have a Tilt and a Southard? Pictures and general thoughts is what I am after, I know they are quite a bit different, but an interesting comparison. I have a Southard, no real interest in the Tilt (at current prices anyway), but the Tilt gets a lot of praise as does the Southard.

i have both and they couldn't be more different. the tilt is a very large knife. large handle and a large blade. the bearing system in the tilt (not sure the acronym) seems to be superior to the one in the southard. my southard can be stiff and gritty at time but the tilt has never felt that way. i feel that the heavier blade of the tilt wants to swing out easier and i'm sure that helps. the southard is compact and fits the hand pretty well whereas i find the tilt only good in one or maybe two grips. lockup on both is early and solid, no sticky locks here. not a fan of either clip. i'll try to get some pics up later

I Don't think you could compare the 2.. The Tilt is Composite Blade with Ti/CF Handle... way different blade shapes and the Tilt was a limited Production. Under 700 between the DLC and SW... I don't have a southard but have handled one and to me its like a compact version of the Big Beast ZT0561...Felt very well made and smooth...And the TILT is amazing! The KVT Bearing system is smooth as Glass..Feels great in Hand. It one of those knives that you don't get till you have it in hand...and I didn't like the clip either...thats why I fixed it :)

Once I put the Piston Clip on the one I haven't had other knife on me...The Clip was the only thing stopping me from using it as a EDC..The OEM clip you basically almost rip your pocket getting it out.. The ZT clip works amazing too!
