Spyderco Southard Grind

I'm just wondering if anyone has tried a flat or convex grind on the blade. I'm not sure if I should change my factory hollow grind to a flat or convex grind.

I don't think that the southard has enough blade steel left to convex the blade.

Not sure why you would want to change it though!

I was doing some cutting and whittling with it and it wasn't cutting as well as I was expecting. Maybe it's just because it's a factory edge?

Try resharpening it. It mght be the factory edge is burnt/weakened.

There's a whole thread on Nilakka by Cliff Stamp over spyderco.com forum discussing this effect. It is more obvious on Nilakka but might happen to any factory knife ground with power tools.
