Okay so I got my southard a few weeks ago and finally needed to sharpen the edge.
One big problem: The grinds are crooked towards the tip. One side was lobbed to probably 30 degrees on one side, and 15 degrees on the other. This is due to the uneven grinding out of the spine.

I managed to re profile it to 20 degrees however I am left with an incredibly ugly bevel which would require further profiling to get the bevel/edge back on the same page. If I could use my benchstones and free hand it, as I've dealt with this problem before on swords/tantos but last time I reprofile a couple of super steels it just didn't work out. Not to mention my stone got worn so much I had to profile it. (M390/Elmax)

I need someone to use an edge pro, or wicked edge to reprofile the blade's bevel to 15 degrees. I will apply a 40 degree microbevel as needed.

Anyone in Texas that can offer to do this? I would of course be paying shipping to and from, as well as paying for your time.

Send it in to Spyderco and they can check out your clip screws too.

Im not trusting knife companies to do sharpening anymore, they tend to remove a crap load of metal and I usually end up in me having to re-profile it. I am not really bothered by a crooked grind anymore.

As for the pocket clip, I thought about it and figured it was good riddance, never really liked the clip too much and I had to be careful not to poke holes in my pockets. I am going to get a sheath made by a local guy. I like me leather, so I think it will work out nicely.
