I think I've got my search narrowed down to those two. Are there any other suggestions you guys would make that are similar to these two knives and between the two of them which would you guys settle on?

Thanks!

I'd give a slight edge to the ZT, if only from an aesthetic standpoint. They're both great knives.

I much prefer the Southard. But really it all comes down to your intended uses. Do you want a world class edc knife with blade steel that holds its edge for a VERY long time? Go southard. Or do you want a beefy work knife with tougher steel that will be more resistant to abuse and don't care that it's bigger? If so, the ZT is your better bet. They're both really nice (with the Southard being a little nicer imo) but for my uses, the Southard is the winner hands down.

I only have the 0560, but I like it very much. Great quality and an extremely smooth manual flipper. Like someone said, it's large but it carries very well, IMO. I don't think you can go wrong with the ZT, but, if you can swing it, buy both. Problem solved.

That's a tough one. In my opinon both feel very different to me. The 0560 feels larger and more clumsy in my hand. The Southard feels very light and fast. I would carry the Southard more, but would feel more confident using the 0560 roughly if needed.
I am waiting to see how the 204P performs under real world use. Since I have enough fixed blades to tackle big jobs I give the Southard more pocket time. It really is a personal preference thing. If you can, hold them both in your hand and then decide.

Southard.. and I am not a spyderco guy. I love my flippers, but the 560 is bulky for the size. Southard has an awesome blade/handle size ratio.

I have both. DO it.

Haha, as much as I would love to have both I don't think that's a very practical decision right now. I'm looking for something new to add to the EDC pool that can handle day to day chores well but possesses the design integrity to withstand use as something in more of a real pinch. It wouldn't be the first time a combination of a knife and flashlight have deterred someone who was formerly quite set on trying to strip me of my belongings on the way back from work.

apples to oranges buddy... 2 different knives imo

i would have to say the southard is a much better edc knife for most due to its size
the zt is a beast and probably the better option if you want a larger knife

my 2cents, i prefer the looks and larger size of the 0560 and im also a fan of the kvt captured bearing system over ikbs. elmax vs. cts204p?, i'll leave that up to the user as most would hardly notice the difference for casual edc use...
