What are the chances of the Southard being discontinued?

Is this a knife a fellow should have multiple of?

It was just released so it's not going to be discontinued soon. Eventually it will be.
I own multiples of the Gayle Bradley. I can't say there's a logical reason for it. One will last a lifetime.

I've only heard people talk of it being a standard production run, and with the extremely fast sales of this knife, I would not think Spyderco to discontinue it anytime in the near future.

Yep. It is standard production. That's a fact, not a guarantee, but no panic is required.

Standard production. I'd expect to see some sprint runs in the near future due to it's success.

Spyderco was telling people at SHOT not to expect sprints or exclusives for a while due to production backlog. :) That's actually good news for people waiting for inventory of standard production knives and a few missing sprints/exclusives, like the green P2. I'd like to see CF/S90V or maybe S110V... ;)

Oh, that's interesting. Not surprising though. I thought I read somewhere that Spyderco was working on setting up a new factory or expanding their existing production capabilities to try and keep up with demand.

I suspect the Southard will see some sort of Sprint run, but maybe not for another year or so. It does seem to be selling well.

It will probably be discontinued eventually, but I'm thinking not for a good few years at least. It's probably the hottest thing on the market right now.
