Hi folks,
I'm a big fan of my Daywalker Wharcom - I like the fact that it is easy to sharpen, super useful (ambi opening) and not particularly intimidating to non-knife folks. (Took this photo in Mexico, in fact.) A southpaw, I pulled the pocket clip off mine and added a lanyard - I can now keep it in either pocket (tho it only closes with the right hand).
I was intrigued to run across images of the Spyderco Squarehead. I wondered whether any folks here have compared the two - trying to decide whether it's worth dropping the big bucks on Spyderco's implementation of Caston's take on this design. I like the choil that Mr. los Banos designed into the Wharcom and I like how it's ambi opening, but I note the Spyderco version might be even less likely to scare the squares (it's not all black and intimidating!). Not sure I'm too concerned about the difference between the Boker Plus AUS 8 and the Spyderco CPM S30V, but I'm no expert.
Thanks for any thoughts you might care to share!
cheers, erich
