The day before thanksgiving I picked up a Spyderco Superhawk. My wife actually picked it out but I already talked about that on the Spyderco forum so I will not tell that story again. The MSRP of 319.95is a little high, but I got mine for 180 in a store and I think on line they run a little less. Lets get to the knife.
Blade length= 3.5 in
Cutting edge= 2.75 in
Closed length= 4.8 in
Weight= 4.4 oz

It locks by means of a compression lock which is one of my favorite locking mechanisms. The VG-10 steel is very stain resistant and this blade being flat ground it cuts through most materials very quickly. I love the subtle curve of this blade it makes it much more useful in a utility sense than a sharper curve. I have used it to cut down dozens of cardboard boxes, opened numerous plastic bags, numerous zip ties, and a variety of other EDC tasks. It has performed exceptionally well especially at arms length. The carbon fiber scales are very comfortable, but the texturing if you use the pocket clip can be a little rough on clothing. The wire pocket clip is nice, it is set up for tip up only. I do not carry mine on the clip I usually keep it in a home-made pocket holster. I lost a couple of knives on clips and decided this is the way to go. Like I have said in other posts the only limit of this knife is you can not work on a cutting board. It sharpens very easily on the corners of the Spyderco Sharpmaker with about 10 passes per side. I feel like it easily accomplishes 90% of EDC tasks just as efficiently and many more so than a conventional knife shape. I was very skeptical initially, but my wife was right the shape is handy.

Great review! It's one of the better high-end knives out there. The Superhawk and the Stretch II are the ultimate "can't buy both/want both" dillemma.

Thanks very much for sharing.
