is the Szabofly still back ordered? or is it discontinued? what's the news on this knife?
 
Spyderco has had some problems with their bali line, go look in the bali section for more info.
 
Discontinued. Probably not going to see it again for a long, long time.

Customs was having a slow day, so they decided to reinterpret some laws and lay the smackdown on Spyderco.
 
Recently their balis were confiscated by customs becuase some reason or another, there had been some talk (rumors and whatnot) on if Sal will be setting up to build any more balis but this time in the US.

I'm sure that you can find one, but it's going to be damn hard and damn expensive if you can get them.
 
The Szabofly was produced in limited numbers then temporarily (at the time) discontinued because of problems in the manufacturing of them. Then a few months ago Spyderco was hit by the Customs BS (some parts were imported, making the entire knife illegal, even though assembly was in the US), their entire stock seized, etc. Spyderco remains committed to balisongs, but this means that the entire production will need to be set up within the US, which'll have the following effects:

1. Prices will likely go up.

2. It's gonna take a while.

So, it's going to happen, but you'll have to wait it out.
