Well, I lied... The Benchmade 950 Rift wasn't my last knife purchase of 2012.

Upon returning home from the knife shop Thursday with my 950 Rift, I was constantly thinking of a certain knife I had left behind. It was sitting in the case among a group of bigger Spydies and looked kind of scared. I could not stand it any longer so I drove back to the knife shop this morning to make sure she was not harmed by the big bullies. I arrived to find her safe and sound in the corner all alone. I asked to hold her to be sure she was OK. The minute the clerk handed her to me I knew she was the one I'd been waiting for, for so long. I held her gently and told her everything would be alright, we're going home! :D Here are some photos of my new girl, just don't tell my wife:eek:

If you buy enough knives over time, there is a certain point at which Mrs. Knifehunt can no longer tell when you have purchased a new knife because they all begin to look the same. This magical line of demarcation is called the Powernoodle Event Horizon, and surpassing it should be the goal of everyone who is interested in hoarding knives.

Haha, funny story :D

Very nice pictures, makes me contemplate getting one for myself...but somehow I can't justify its high price. Spyderco became really expensive in 2012.

K ifehunt, this knife is a beauty. I have no idea what it is. Do tell. And Mr. Powernoodle... You are my newest mentor. Show me your ways!

Its easy. When your credit card is bigger than your brain - which describes my affliction - you end up with multiple dozens of redundant knives that you don't need.

I too thought the price was on the higher side for a smaller knife, but this thing is built like a bank vault. Once you hold and fondle it you'll know what I mean. It is smooth as can be and the blade flicks open like lightning, not what I expected from a smaller knife. All I can say is that it's a lot of knife in a smaller package. I have no doubt this thing will handle anything with ease, and you forget it's even in your pocket.

Okay, okay - I'll show a Techno pic if that makes you guys happy. See also my sneaky peek of the Techno vs. the Kershaw Cryo here.

Fantastic write up, thank you! I think I'll return my Techno and buy a Cyro.... NOT! No chance, this knife is the bomb, and I do not regret spending every penny on her, including her necklace;)

I am to that point, however a knife in the mailbox is still an issue. I have a Junior coming, and am scheming a way to make sure she does not check the mail. I am still waiting on the green pm2, and I might have already told her some new knives I received were "that one I ordered in February" I have also told her more than once that I only want a few more. Good thing she doesn't really care :D, she just thinks I am nuts!

That is a great line, lol.

maybe that's why I bought three TECHNO's and sold them all without using them. I do like 'em.

I too recently got a Techno. I'm not a big Ti- framelock guy but this knife is awesome.

The number needed to achieve this obfuscation isn t that large. Maybe two dozen in my family.
