hey guys,

I'm looking for a new camping/survival knife and i've brought my list down to the Bark River Bravo 1, Spyderco Temperance 2 and the ESEE RC4

Now i'm having a little trouble deciding which to go for so any advise would be much appreciated.

If stain resistance is the most important (river knife or you live very close to the ocean) I'd go with the temperance, but if not I'd go with one of the other two, I have the Bravo-1, I was deciding between it the RC-4 and the Fallkniven f1 earlier this year, I went with the Bravo-1, 1. because of the A2 Tool steel and covex grind. 2. the handle's more comfortable and longer than the other two. 3. the RC-4 and B-1 have better warranties than the F1 or the Spyderco. Now I haven't handled the spyderco so I'm not sure about handle or feel, but if you can I'd try to handle each one to see which one feels the best in hand. For me one of the most important things in a fixed blade is warranty, specifically, BRKT, ESEE, Bussekin type warranty because they will see harder use and if they can't handle what I throw at them I want to know they're completely backed up by the warranty so I don't feel the need to baby them like I might my folders (well maybe not baby, but I wouldn't baton with a folder unless I absolutely had too)

Bravo1

I'm sure plenty will recommend ESEE-4 instead because it's a great knife (or so I've read) but you can't go past Bark River's design and production. Convex wins too IMHO.

okay sweet, I'm definitely going to go with the Bravo 1, I did a little more research and it's definitely the winner. Thanks a lot guys

+1 on the Bravo 1. I wasn't able to hold it before I bought it, but when it arrived there were no problems at all. Also my sheath really wasn't that bad as people seem to make them out to be. You could also get a cutom sheath done up if you like, I bought a custom sheath for it, and its much better.
EDIT: oh yeah, and the convex edge is great, really easy to work with, and maintain.
