Spyderco Tenacious a bit small

Hey,
I find my Spyderco Tenacious to be a bit on the small side when working extended periods of time. The handle is just under a centimeter too short, so my fingers don't fit all that well. I was thinking of finding a manix or military, but the price is a bit of a stumbling block for a 17 year old high school student. Does anyone have any other recommendations?
Needs:
tough lock
8Cr13MoV, AUS-8, 440C or better steel
not too expensive
at least a cm more handle than a Tenacious

I actually really like the Spyderco knives concerning ergonomics and cutting ability, but the prices are holding me back a little; not in the last place because of the higher quality steels used in the bigger folders. S30V would be nice, but it's expensive too. I can live with sharpening more often, but I can't fork out twice as much cash in a hurry. I live in holland btw, so prices are quite high here.

I think I'll wait for the Resilience, looks really good and I love spyderco ergonomics :)
The cold steel suggestions are nice too, but I really don't care for their business ethics.
Wouldn't a SOG Trident be an alternative? Never handled one, but the handle looks bigger than the tenacious' handle.

try an endura, a bit more expensive, but not as much as a military or manix.

but the military is an awesome knife.

I recommend...if it's a plain blade....you sell it to me, it fits my hand perfectly.;)

The Spyderco Resilience is the same as the Tenacious but bigger. Has just about everything your looking for!

Hmm, still a bit torn. I can get a slide lock manix 2 for about 85 euros, while my best bet for a resilience will be 50-60ish. How would these two compare?

The manix 2 is a whole 'nother level about tenacious/persistence quality. However, if you're finding the tenacious ergos a bit off for you, the manix 2 might be off for you, as well. It would be nice if you can handle one first.

OTOH, the manix is not such a good slicing blade. It is sharp with a high hollow grind but when cutting materials that bind the blade geometry is somewhat disadvantaged over the FFG of the tenacious.

Steelwise, the manix 2 is "better". Your decision must ultimately be based on what your anticipated use is.

The handle on the trident is indeed pretty big, about 5+ inches. id recommend getting the satin plain edge version, i have the combo-edge model and kinda regret it because i only ever use the serrations for cutting rope and not much else. the plain edge is much more useful for every day tasks IMO.

The Ontario RAT-1 is great knife too, it has a good handle and is cheap and sturdy. nice beater for the money
