I've looking to purchase a folding knife, and I'm currently looking at the Spyderco Tenacious or the Buck 110. I might consider the Ontario Rat 1 as well, but I'm leaning towards the other two at the moment. I've been wanting a Benchmade Nagara 10700 for awhile too, but would rather purchase it used, since it's discontinued and a new one is rather expensive at all the places I'e looked (if someone has found a decent site where I can purchase one used or new for a good deal, let me know!).

I don't really have any preferences or purpose to buying the knife. I'm just trying out some new knives and mostly adding one to my collection, and since these are relatively affordable and most people have owned these, I'd like to give one a shot. Which one would you personally recommend, and why? If you own one of these, what is your experience with it? Pros, cons?

I'm mostly focusing on the knives I listed, but if you feel the need to recommend a knife to me that's just as good or better that's right around the the $35 range or less, then feel free to! Any recommendations would be appreciated. Just please give a reason for the recommendation, and your experience with the knife(s). Thanks!

Kershaw Junkyard dog. It's at your price point, silky smooth, big enough but not too big, easy to take apart for cleaning, great service after the sale at Kershaw............

Tenacious.
I carried mine for years and it finally got replaced by a fixed blade. Still carry if on the weekends though. Lots of value for the money btw.

Hmm. Seems like everyone here have different opinions... Anyone else have an opinion on which knife is best of the ones I listed?

Bottom line is you won't go wrong with any of the knives listed. The Tenacious is a great knife and my EDC. I have a Buck 110 as well but it is considerably bulkier and heavier and doesn't see a lot of use. As matt1987 says, the large Bucklite Max is a great, modern, lightweight take on the 110 blade profile. It was what I carried before I got my Tenacious. The Buck 112 might be worth a look as well if you want something that bit smaller. I have the Ecolite version and it's very nice indeed.

Buck 110 is a classic and a must have. I have a few standard models and a few customs, I love the design.

If you don't mind belt carry it's and excellent knife. I carry mine as a hunting knife.

The Tanacious and Rat 1 are both winners and well worth the price, so it will be up to you.

I don't have any experience with the Nagara, but they're still around for under $100.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Benchmade Harley-Davidson Ti Nak-Lok is almost the same as the Nagara. I've seen those online for $75.
