looking to make some custom scales for my tenacious out of blue g10 and carbon fiber.
has anyone made scales for this knife that can help me out?
im looking for the measurements for counterbores for the pivot screw and the body screws.
(or an alternate tool to get the job done)
if someone has the tools i need to drill the recessed holes i would be happy to buy them off you ( or a link to the sized drill bits i would need would be very helpful)
if anyone has videos or tips they would be greatly appreciated!!!

thanks!
jake

i think the best thing to do first would be to buy yourself a cheap vernier caliper from harbor freight tools and measure it yourself - that way you get an idea of what you are doing and what to do later with the scales

carbon fiber is pretty nasty stuff even with a high quality respirator it gets very dangerous...do you have the equipment to do this safely?

When I made bamboo scales for my tenacious, I just used drill bits to drill and counter sink the holes.

I think I used some wood working bits because they made flat bottomed holes. I drill the larger hole first, for the counter sink, then the main hole. I seem to be able to get the holes lined up better this way.

I used the liners as templates for hole lay out and shape.

You might want to try shaping, drilling and counter sinking on a scrap of g10 or carbon fiber to get a better idea how it works.

I did make my scales much thicker than the original ones. It made the Tenacious feel alot better in my hand.

i have a tenacious and never thought about changing the scales

good ideas guys, hey jake you should post the drill bit sizes when you find them

some quality scales is all this knife needs to be truly badass
