Spyderco Tenacious - Full Review

I just purchased one too. It's currently my favorite Spyderco.

I was also very impressed by the lock up, perfectly centered blade and fit/ finish. It's also an incredibly well designed knife in terms of strength and compactness.

If you don't have one, you should definitely consider one.

Made in China or not, the bar has been risen. Well done Spyderco.

Just about every major production knife manufacturer has "some" knives made in China including the brands which I consider the "best value for my $ spent" such as Spyderco, Kershaw, Benchmade, Boker

But dear Comrade! You sounds like, you feel that my comment is negative. After rereading my post I did not see anything wrong - perfectly neutral statement and completely true.

Thanks, Vassili.

Thanks but No thanks!

Not gonna do one.

Glad you guys like 'em.

Nice review of a knife that has claerly established itself as a great bang for the buck!

Nice review Vivi. Would I be correct to say that the Tenacious is more or less a less-expensive version of the Mini Manix? That's what I thought when I saw pictures of the two knives.

Hail the next superpower!
I think the old stigma of chinese made stuff being crap is slowly eroding away.

Thirty dollar street price, fifty MSRP. Wow, spyderco is really entering the low end market. On close out, should be able to pick one up for under $20. This knife is basically no different from a byrd, just a hole instead of a teardrop.

I just got one today. I am very impressed. This knife looks as nice as nay other SPyderco I have ever owned. If Sal gets a Wal-Mart deal for the Tenacious, we should be able to get a great knife for around $20!:)

I was surprised at how smooth this thing opens, the lock up is sweet also. I think Sal and Co. did a great job on this one. Can the mini Tenacious be far behind:D

I think I must have one. So the Catbyrd, the Sage, and... ;)

If they give me quality stuff for that low price, I can live with it. :D

Just got mine today, and I've gotta agree with Vivi's entire review....great knife :cool:

Somehow I thought that the Tenacious was VG10 but seems it is not! I don't own any Byrds but I have a package on the way with a CaraCara, two Robins, a Boker Trance and a Subcom... I will keep the Trance and a Robin so I will have the chance of seing how it performs myself.
I like the flat grind and the G10 scales a lot... I wonder if the blade being 8Cr13Mov could be a drawback!
