Got one today and the blade has no markings on it (Doesn't say China or steel code). This is obviously a defect. Should I exchange it for a new one?

Well, if there's no blade play and it opens an closes, I dont see the point in returning it.

I have a Tenacious and hate the "china" sign.:thumbdn:

But if you want to, go ahead.

X2

Could you put a pic of it up?

Does it have the Spyder logo next to the hole? Granted, the blade may look better without any of the informational markings, it makes me wonder whether it's a legitimate Spyderco O.o

I was also wondering if it could be a fake.
The real and "proudly made in China" Tenacious is in my opinion one of the great value knives on the market.

Well if its legit, it could have some "sterile" collector value........... one day.
post a pic if you can.

I would hazard to say the greatest. ;)

Seriously. If it's real, I'd hold onto it. As my teacher use to say "a valuable misprint." Of course, he was talking about our dreaded grammar books. :D

It has no markings including the spyderco logo on the blade. Also I actually ordered two from the same vender and only one came like that. It seems to function fine, though the liner lock on the other seems slightly better when lining up with the back of the blade.

Pics, or it didn't happen. :D

Seriously, though, I'd be very interested in seeing an unmarked Tenacious.

You might want to post this over on the Spyderco Forum here on BF. Sal or Taz Kristi might be able to give you a quick answer.

The pic with the liner locks, the one on the right is the blank blade and the left has the spyderco markings. Also the blank one's liner lock does not seem to be as good as the other....or am I just picky.

Looks real to me. I wonder how that got past QC? I'd notify them and send it back. Or frame it. :D

I have a Plain edge NIB Tenacious that I would trade you for the blank one. Just email me at

bluerosy at comcast dot net

That actually looks pretty cool, I’d keep it as someone said above your not gonna see one like that again.

Keep it for sure its a collector item now. I know when the E2D LED from surefire first came out there was a run that was advertised with two outputs but only had high. Collectible now.
