My tenacious I just received is magnetized at the tip. What does this mean?

Nice knife though, looks to be an ideal hunting pocket knife. Perfect blade shape for skinning.

It means.... that if you were to dangle it from something with low enough friction and gravity weren't an issue, the tip would tend to point northward! :D

It probably means it somehow got passed near a magnet whether it be while in your possession, during manufacturing / storing or shipping. You can always just demagnetize it :)

It means don't buy another china blade.....

This is just a few short steps away from posting ethnic slurs, and has absolutely nothing to do with this thread, or the quality of a knife with a magnetized tip.

You're familiar with how steel gets magnetized, right? Do you understand that it can happen to any steel, made anywhere?

Magnetized tip you say, cool, I can use the tip to pick up a clip screw cause every time I flip the clip to tip up, at least one of the screws jumps off the table and ends up hidden in the carpet shag, lol.

I purposefully magnetize the screwdrivers on my multi tools.

just had curious experience after welding... went to get gerber plier from pouch to find its turned into sort of iron filing hedgehog-type thing... it's since de-magnetised of its own accord and, after a good clean and re-oiling, is right as rain.. wierd tho
