Alright I want a new Spyderco and don't ask why I didn't post this the Spydie forums. So I'm stuck between tenacious full black blade with combo edge or endura 4 full black blade with combo edge. I would really appreciate some experience filled answers. Thank You

They are both great knives but it all comes down to use and application for the specific owner.
I'm going to assume your use is ADC and perhaps defensive.

Lock: Endura (I hate lockback knives but i have to admit that they are stronger than linerlocks in most cases. A linerlock is easier and safer to operate with one hand in my opinion)

Price: Tenacious (30-35) over the Enduras (50-60) These prices are based off of your specifics.

Materials: Split. The Tenacious has a better handle material (G-10) over the Enduras cheap-feeling handle material (FRN) [FRN is quite strong, don't get me wrong. Just makes it look like a flea market knife] The Endura however has a VG-10 blade steel as opposed to the Tenacious's 8CR14MOV. The latter is by no means a bad blade steel but in my experience and opinion, VG-10 takes it easily.

Weight: Endura (3.6 oz) Tenacious (4.1) Very nominal difference... to the point where i would just dismiss the category but some people are very picky about weight.

In the end my opinion and recommendation would be the Tenacious. Why? Price is almost half, still a good blade steel, better handle material (Not to mention the steel liner that adds a bit of strength), Blade shape is better in my opionion, and the lock is easier and safer to operate.
It's hands down for me, i knew the moment i read the question, but i just wanted to set forth some facts to help you decide for yourself.

Wow thanks for the feedback. I have $75 waiting in my amazon so I will go with the tenacious. Again thank you for taking your time to reply, much appreciated.

I would go with the Endura, it is higher quality overall and you pay for it. The Steel is going to be a big improvement and the blade will be slightly longer than the Endura. The compression lock is not my favorite but I have gotten used to it and it has not failed me. The Endura will also be lighter weight.

Everyone will say Endura, but I'm going to say Tenacious. It's a solid value and the blade is big enough to be useful for many different tasks.

It's a knife so cheap you could buy 2 and have 1 for a backup. That's the beauty of the Spyderco Tenacious

100% agreed. The upsides to the Endura are the Blade steel, the slightly better lock (Which doesn't matter for light to medium use EDC knives.) Some linelocks just suck and so do some backlocks. Neither of these do so you're not going to have this liner fail on you unless you're doing something stupid. Ex. Smacking the back of the blade against something very hard repeatedly (Even then it probably won't fail) And more cutting edge but the Tenacious has a more than sufficient blade length for EDC/ADC and even some defensive applications.

The second point is another huge factor... you can get two of them. One in your front pocket, one in your back. A full straight edged one and a full serrated one, none of that combo garbage. *obviously not a serration fan for folders* Or two Combos if you wish and just keep the second one in the box until years down the line the first fails you. Another possibility is that since this is such a popular blade, the price could go up in a couple years and you could even make some money on it.

Or just get the tenacious and use the remaining 35 bucks for something else you need.

All around. Tenacious.

I have both and it's a toss up depending in what you want it for.

I like the G-10 on the Tenacious for "dressier" occasions. But I would take the Endura to the woods.

So it's really what you'd do with it. Or get both.

Owned both, strongly prefer the Endura. It just feels like a better knife to say the least.
