So I know this is a 30 dollar knife.

I just picked one up and I like every thing about it.

I'm am having an issue right now with the deployment. It was as smooth as butter at first. But now it seems like the liner lock is putting too much tension on the blade causing the deployment to be rough and very stiff. I have tried to mess around with adjusting the pivot screw but it just looses centre when I do.

Anyone else have these problems? Should I take it apart and see what's going on?

Try cleaning it with some soap/detergent and warm water, blowing it out with some compressed air, and lubing the pivot. In the process, try lubing the track on the blade tang that the ball detent travels and see if that helps.

What he said but I'd just loosen the pivot before cleaning and lubing. Then tighten it up after everything is done.
