So I got the option of getting a Spyderco Tenacious lightweight in s35vn or a Paramilitary 3 lightweight BD1N. I am want wanting a tough knife I can use for self defense or out in the woods. Something tough. I am leaning toward the Tenacious due to its steel liners, s35vn steel, fast opening, good blade length, and small package for cutting edge length. I am also interested in the para3 lightweight BD1N mostly because everyone seems to have one and like it. Thoughts?

For your described uses id say tenacious but if you can go bigger then the resilience since you said self defence.

The 2 you mention are both great jn their own right. I have an original Tenacious when it was a "budget" knife. Holds its own. The Para 3 is one of my current edc choices. Awesome knife and the compression lock is hands down my favorite.

I would personally go with the Shaman over them both. But that's my preference.
